Office Gift Ideas for the 4 Generations
There are four generations in the workplace right now. All have different values, opinions, and experiences that set them apart. We want to make it easier for you to go to Holiday Office Parties with all 4 of those generations. We have been talking to working men and women who have festivities to go to, and this is what people from all generations have shared with us.
This is a condensed list of the Good Morning Texas TV segment Linda was on in December. Here is everything that would have been shared if time had allowed.

The Traditionalist Generation is made up of those people who are ages 65 and older. These people remember sacrificing for the good of the whole.
|
The age range for Baby Boomers is 47 to 65 years young. This is a group who is very short on time. Boomers still tend to be workaholics, they already have stuff, and look for experiences.

Gen X, whose age range is between 34 to 47 years old, saw their parents become workaholics and decided that they were going to have something new – a work/life balance. They are interested in family, their homes, and entertaining at home with family and friends.
|
Generation Y are the ages of 16 to 34. When this generation is asked what they would like for Christmas, 9 times out of 10 they will say money. Since money is not an appropriate gift to give others at an office party, there are plenty of other options available.

For hostess gifts, if you are considering a candle, choose an unscented one or LED style candles. LED candles are flameless and unscented too. A glass and carafe set is something that all generations can put to use and may not have already. It is a beautiful way to keep water by your bedside without your pets drinking it. The Powerful Appearance audio CD for party etiquette is the gift that keeps on giving. "The Four Generations at the Office Party" is a 50-minute program on CD that explains in detail how to best interact with all generations at the office party or other festive holidays. It includes advice for keeping up-to-date on so you are prepared and make others feel welcomed and happy they attended this special event. Always send the host of each party you attend a Thank You card that is handwritten showing you have taken the time to sit down and appreciate their hospitality. They will definitely remember you this time next year. |
